NACCC Looking for Support Officers
NACCC is looking to attract  new Support Officers for the London, Wales and the North West regions,on a self employed basis, to work with supported child contact centres.  The work will involve liaising with new and existing centres:

  • to help them become accredited; this will include at least one visit
  • to offer a training session if they are a new centre  
  • to reaccredit those which are already accredited and due to be reaccredited.
We pay £50 for each training session and £11 per hour for other work, with travel expenses on top of that.

What is a Child Contact Centre?

 A Child Contact Centre is a safe, friendly and neutral place where children of separated families can spend time with one or both parents and sometimes other family members. They are child-centred environments that provide toys, games and facilities that reflect the diverse needs of children affected by family breakdown.

 
Court Based Training - March - June 2009

  • Judges welcome you with speech explaining what they do and their role within the court process
  • CAFCASS officer & solicitor talk about their roles
There are a range of venues and dates for this training which starts at the end of March.


Places are limited so it will be on a first come first served basis. Please complete the booking form which is available from Donna Moreland ( d.moreland@naccc.org.uk) and send a cheque for £15 to Donna Moreland, (made payable to NACCC), to NACCC, Minerva House, Spaniel Row, Nottingham NG1 6EP.

Public Funding – Children and Adoption Act 2006 and contact centres - Update

In December 2008 the Legal Services Commission amended its decision making guidance to reflect the Children and Adoption Act 2006 and in relation to the funding of contact centres/assessements.

How it looks to me: Young Person's Consultation

A young person's consultation for those aged between 10 and 18 years whose parents are separated or divorced.
The aim is for young persons to come to this consultation and help to make a difference to other young people. The message from this day will be published in a report to help improve services to families.

Th event is on the 15th April at the Leicester Space Centre.

Free entry to grand prize, £10 vouchers, gift pack, lunch provided

Travel will be paid for attendees and it will be a really fun day.

‘Think Fathers’ Campaign – “dads’ summit”
‘Think Fathers’ is a new campaign which has been unveiled by Children’s Minister Beverley Hughes, and aims to shatter the myth across children’s professions that fathers are the ‘invisible parent’.  This campaign is unique in that its goal is to encourage different sectors to look distinctively at fathers and not just at parents generically.
