What We Do

NACCC supports its members in numerous ways. In the past year we have:

  • Provided Free Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks for volunteers - processing over thirteen hundred CRB disclosures.
  • Approved twenty three new member centres.

NACCC  has a good track record in achieving key objectives. These include:

  • Introduction of National Standards for supported child contact centres to provide quality assurance.
  • Devising enhanced national standards for supervised child contact services.
  • Implementation of associated accreditation processes for centres and services to demonstrate their quality.
  • Ongoing individual and group training related to contact centre activity and standards.
  • Establishment of protocols and relationships with key referrers: judiciary, family lawyers, CAFCASS and CAFCASS CYMRU.
  • Agreement with referrers of the need for child contact services to become accredited.
  • Provision of an information line and Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) umbrella service for members.
  • Production of specific subsidised publications for members.
  • Attracting funding to distribute to child contact services.
  • Recognition and funding by central government.
  • Lobbying of key decision-makers.
